Welcome New Associates

blog_banner_image_111

One of the greatest lessons you and I will ever learn is that enduring hardships, disappointments, adversities, and afflictions is necessary to grow, to learn, and to advance in our understanding.

Regardless of circumstances, it is within our ability to be successful during trying times if we know how to go about it, and if we are ready to make that commitment. Have you the commitment to make your business successful, even in this down economy?

I welcome you to this site. I believe you will benefit from the lessons I have learned about success and failure, and about building a successful Internet business when you use the correct tools.

Knowing of my own struggles, which I now share with you, can help you overcome your own difficulties as well. My story is not that unique. I have experienced many of the same obstacles as you and overcome them as well. However, unlike some of you, I have had to find commitment way down in my soul when my dreams were challenged by family and friends. You can find my story on the video below.

Please tell us about your experiences with this topic by leaving a comment or sending me an email.

We would greatly appreciate you telling us your story. Express your feelings about how this site helps you. If you fell comfortable about it, we would like to hear what challenges you are currently enduring.

A Dale Carnegie Training Graduate

I just completed a twelve week course with Dale Carnegie. Not only is it worth three college credits, but it adds value to my business goals as well. I highly recommend you take this course when you have the opportunity. Not one person in our class realized the impact this course would have on them and their profession. We each had different reasons for taking the course, and yet the experience turned out to be much more rewarding than we had expected.

Because I’ve been in Network Marketing for over thirty years, and because I’ve attended all the seminars and read all the books (including “How to Win Friends and Influence People”), I expected to learn very little from the course. All I wanted was to add the Dale Carnegie Training Course to my portfolio for credibility reasons. Instead, what I got was smoothed out rough edges of my character and the skills I already had developed into better communication and more confidence in my ability and expertise.

The Dale Carnegie Training is designed to be personal in application. As a result, personal examination caused a huge change in my thinking and attitude. I now have more confidence in teaching what I know, more understanding of how people think, and how to be more direct in my presentations.

With this increased confidence, I am starting up my own Training Center to help people in the following areas:

  • Develop leadership skills and become a more effective leader
  • Become a more persuasive communicator
  • Reduce stress at home and work
  • Improve problem solving skills at work and home
  • Develop techniques to find a job by presenting ones self in a better light
  • I am also putting together workshops to help families communicate better with each other.

I will not anything scheduled at this time, but plan to begin the training in late July or early August. I will keep you informed on when I plan to do a session, the subject of the session, and where. If you would like to schedule a home session for family and friends, contact me by email and we will talk about your needs.

In the meantime, I advise you to start reading the books listed below that are most useful in the Dale Carnegie program. You can get them online or in any bookstore. You can also click on these links and see amazon.com’s full page of Dale Carnegie books.

Ask Judith L. Sherman a Question

You don’t have to ask me any questions if you feel uncomfortable about it, but if you have one, please feel free to ask it. Relax, there are NO STRINGS attached, no gathering information for a name list or mailing list, none of that maketing ploy that some people use when they offer free information.

I am not saying that I don’t ever offer free information with the intent to build a name list and invite people to other things that I offer, but I NEVER spam. I hate spam! You have to request a subscription to get my information. The truth is, my offer is pure and a sincere desire to share the vast knowledge I have in my head to help you with your situations.

I have coached people with great results. They have been able to get refocused when they have freaked out about the economy. I had some who get overwhelmed and can not find their way out. I helped them with this and get them back on track. That is the job of a business coach. I have also helped people build their own websites too.

I am not asking you to let me coach you, I am only one person so I have a limited number of people I can take on at one time, but I do have a new website that I set up yesterday. It allows you to ask me a question. That way everyone can benefit from your question and the answer to it.

I set up the site to function much like facebook and twitter. However, it is different from facebook and twitter because you don’t follow people and leave little messages for your friends. It is for business comments and questions only or for questions about life and family if you wish, so please don’t abuse the space. Go check out the site at http://NeedCoaching.wordpress.com/ and leave me a comment or question. If I don’t get the support then there is no reason to keep up the site.

Why Downline Do Not Perform

businessmen_talking Upline in network marketing put a lot of pressure on downline to perform, especially when someone stops producing or begins to give excuses. Because a person seems uncommitted or confused about what he or she really wants, an upline will often drop working with him or her all together because it isn’t worth the time. It’s just “The Nature of the Beast” for most Network Marketers. It’s a sad story, but one I hear over and over again.

The problem here is that many upline do not take the time to understand why people quit producing. In fact, they view excuses as non-committal or lazy. Let’s talk about why someone may stop producing in a Network Marketing business.

  • They do not have the same work ethics as their upline.
  • They do not have a reason to do the work. In other words, they have no “WOW”.
  • They need more personal time to work on their fears with an upline who understands them.
  • They see holes in the plan or they do not understand the plan well enough.
  • They have heard negativity from family and friends.
  • They have big egos and think success should happen quickly, and so they won’t wait for it.
  • They focus on their sales skills instead of what their prospects want and help them at that level.
  • They make mistakes so they are too embarrassed to go forward.
  • They do not believe they can be successful.
  • Lack of money to support their businesses, limiting their ability to work the business effectively.
  • They have run out of names on their list.
  • They lose the vision of why they started the business in the first place.
  • They won’t accept trainning and try to go off on their own. They learn just enough to be dangerous.

Do any of these reasons sound familiar to you? If so, you need to discuss it with your upline. Tell your sponsor how you feel and ask for help. Upline cannot help you if they do not know your problem.

Another issue might be that you do not trust your sponsor to teach you what you need to know. You look upline for someone you feel comfortable to work with and deal with your problems.

I do not suggest you bypass your sponsor when you think you are too important to work with him or her. You may be tempted to do so becauuse you like the success you see higher upline and think it better to work with them. Keep in mind that the people you want to work with upline instead of your sponsor did not bring the opportunity to you. The one who thought of you deserves your respect, which means that the sponsor needs to be included in any meetings you have with his or her upline. Any upline that’s worth taking advice from will understand this principle and support it.

If you cannot find answers you want from your upline, feel free to contact me with your questions. Please do not contact me until you have tried to work out things with your upline. Let them help you.

Where The Rubber Meets The Road

key

THE SECRET TO SUCCESS IS KNOWING WHEN OPPORTUNITY KNOCKS
AND THEN OPENING THE DOOR TO IT.

UNTILL YOU OPEN THAT DOOR, NOTHING IS GOING TO CHANGE FOR YOU.

YOU WILL BE WHERE YOU HAVE ALWAYS BEEN AND GET WHAT YOU’VE ALWAYS GOTTEN!

IS THAT ENOUGH FOR YOU?

Okay, let’s get serious about this now. You want to be successful with your business but that means you need to be on the Internet. Nevertheless, you have no idea how to go about it or you figure it will cost too much to get set up.

Here is where the rubber meets the road my friend. Perhaps it’s time for you to make decisions that you have not been willing to make up to now.

Either you haven’t asked yourself the right questions in order to make the decisions you need to make or, for one reason or another, you are not ready to make a commitment to do it .

You have a desire to succeed but you are not in the right position yet. Let me point out a few reasons why you are having problems and see if any of them fit your circumstances.

* You need to quit talking about succeeding and just do it!

* You need to quit complaining about not succeeding, about why you can’t do it, and get things resolved now so you can!

* You need to make a decision about working with the right people, perhaps you will see me as the right person, and let that person or persons help you.

* You need to get the ball rolling now, even if you think you’re not ready yet. I can help you with that, and you won’t feel overwhelmed.

IT’S TIME RIGHT NOW TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT YOUR FUTURE.

I’m and ready to help you where I can, so let me.

Do you have a mentor or someone you respect that you can be accountable to?

Remember that you would not ask a banker for advice on farming any more than you would ask for advice from a person who doesn’t know the first thing about being successful.

You want to take advice from someone who has been around successful people and has the mentality for success. That person may not yet have the level of success that you want but does know how to apply success principles.

Find a person who understands your vision and supports your efforts without criticism or stomping on your dreams. That person needs to help you keep your feet to the fire and tell you when you screw up. You want that person to tell you the truth, even if it’s something you don’t want to hear but you know it’s true.  A person like this is NOT easy to find, but when you do you need to rely on their wisdom.

My brother and I have that type of relationship. Most of the time I mentor him, but there are times when he tells me things I don’t want to hear that I need to hear. We make a good tag team for each other. You need someone to be a tag team member for you too. If you don’t have someone, let me help you. I am really good at listening and telling you the truth. I know how to be successful and I have years of experience rubbing shoulders with the most successful people in the Network Marketing world of business.

If you are ready to do something positive right now that gives you a jump start, let me give you a homework assignment. You need to read and ponder on the following books:

How To Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie

Master Keys To Riches by Napoleon Hill

PARKING AT A LEVEL OF SUCCESS

monkey_shaking_head        PARKING AND LACK OF PLANNING FOR WHAT’S NEXT

I’ve discovered that one of the greatest enemies to success is the lack of planning for success! Another is reaching a certain level of success and then parking. Success becomes stagnate when people park themselves and insist on staying there instead of setting new goals and continuing to grow.

People park when they sit back and rest on past laurels; the mistake being that they allow overconfidence and past successes to cloud future rewards. This situation makes people lazy and overlyconfident in their business dealings. They become board with their lives and fall victim to complacency.

Another problem with parking is that it also sets up people for a nose-dive if the tide changes, as it often does. As such, it behooves successfull people to continue setting goals that keeps them feeling alive and active. Staying active doesn’t have to mean making more money or reaching a higher level of competiveness, it means setting goals that makes your life mean something more than just making money.

A stagnant situation happens when people stop dreaming, stop reaching for goals, and stop growing in their businesses!  This is NOT a good thing! However, I’ve been around a number of success- oriented people over the past thirty years, and I’ve seen this situation happen all too frequently.

It took me a long time to figure out why people die in their businesses or why they fail in life when they seemed to be at the pinnacle of success in their businesses. In almost every instance, parking was the reason; they did not plan for what to do next once success was attained.

Unfortunately, people often spend too much time and energy on building for their future that they forget how to build a good life in the present or how to maintain good relationships. In so doing, they take people in their lives  for granted and don’t see their blessings. This can happen when people see success as a destination instead of a wonderful journey through life.

The problem with people treating success as only a destination is that, once they’ve arrived, they don’t think about what to do next. In other words, they forgot to set additional goals for what is next after reaching their specified goals. Life has a tendency to become routine, mundane, dull, and unexciting. Life seems empty when people have not planned for “What comes next.”

A woman I once knew named Anne found herself in this situation. She described herself as feeling depression. That’s when she asked herself, “Why do I feel this way? All I want to do is cry. I should be happy. I have everything that I could ever want and life is so good to me.”

Anne’s best friend suggested that perhaps what she was experiencing was just a let-down after coming off the high she had been on during that period of time. She had been successful in her business and also had just married a wonderful man. It had been such a whirlwind leading up to the wedding that, when it was all over, she did not know what to do next. In other words, because she had been busily working hard for the event of a lifetime (which she had been praying for a long time), a big hole was left inside her when it was all over. The problem was she had nothing in place to substitute for the energy high she had been on for the past several months.

My point is that you should not only plan to succeed, but you should also plan for what happens after you reach the level of success for which you had planned. You should make plans for what comes next by setting new goals. Think about the following questions:

  • What motivates you to move ahead in life and to reach for another goal?
  • What worthy project would you like to be involved with next?
  • What will you do with your time and energy once you have gotten to where you want to be?
  • How do you see yourself in the future and decide what you want to see there?
  • Who will be there with you, who will not be there, and what will you be doing or not doing?
  • What kind of person will you be, spoiled or humbled?
  • How will you spend your time, energy, and money?
  • Will you be wasteful with those assets or continue to use them wisely and charitably?
  • How much time or money will you be giving to charity, and to what organizations?

These are questions you need to answer so that you have a realistic plan in place to keep you motivated and growing each time you reach a new goal. Also, you need to be adding new lifeblood to everything you set out to accomplish. Old blood gets sluggish and thick when there’s nothing to give it boost once in a while. This means you need to bring new people and new ideas into your circle on a regular basis.

I welcome comments about this subject. Do you believe that planning for what’s next and following through with what you had planned is important?

Challenge The Status Quo

albino_peacock

I learned that we gain a higher level of understanding when we challenge the status quo, which is the way we always do things. In the process of confronting the status quo (learning about, understanding, and changing the rut) common sense and wisdom develop within us.

Okay! I admit that challenging the status quo did not create peace around me immediately nor provide success! At first, it did not help me develop a higher level of understanding of those things that bring success, peace, joy, and happiness to one’s lifel. In fact, in the beginning, it did just the opposite!

There were times when the people closest to me had trouble accepting the changes that were taking place inside me. They continually resisted the new attitudes that were emerging from the person I was becoming. As I learned later, this often happens when people change internally.

I quickly realized that when we take a stand for what we believe in and make defining changes in our lives, it often changes the way people respond to us. It could be upsetting for some of them because they do not want the status quo disturbed; they are happy with how things are now. This is not necessarily a bad thing when we understand this situation!

People will not always accept what we are doing or be happy about it—but it’s not their choice, it’s ours. However, it is always wrong if they become abusive toward us and try to prevent us from doing what we want (or need) to do. We must stay true to the course in this situation, set clear parameters in our dealings with them, and not shirk in keeping our commitments to ourselves.

I believe wisdom teaches us to expect a certain amount of resistance from those who know us best. Still, having faith in God and in our own ability helps us stay true to our inner selves. This faith is what drives us to succeed in reaching our potential and the measure of our creation.

In conclusion, I know we all get stuck in ruts; it is part of life. However, let me make it clear that escaping your rut does not include running away from your responsibilities and the people who depend on you. It does not mean you do something totally off the wall or drastic either. The  point is that reckless and irresponsible actions create scars on the people around you, just like ruts caused by tires in mud leave scars in the terrain where the truck went. You must do everything you can to avoid leaving scars on people who care about you, especially when you are in a selfish and self-centered mood.

In order to make changes you need to make, you must be thoughtful and intelligent about it. Scars from mistakes leave lasting marks, and the consequences from what we do goes on for a long time. Find a friend, your spouse maybe, with whom you can talk through things before doing anything.

It would be wise to sleep on an idea for a day or so, before you make a decision; just to see if it looks the same in the daylight as it did when you were awake all night thinking about it. Can you tell that I’ve done this a few times before?

Let me know how changing the rut is working for you! I would enjoy hearing from you, and hearing about your experiences, your thoughts, your mistakes, and your successes. You can help others who read this report, if you will tell us about your experiences.
